Medical QIGONG (Chi Kung) : Qigong practices can be classified as martial, medical or spiritual. Here we are dealing with Medical Qigong. All 3 Qigong styles have 3 things in common: they all involve a posture (whether moving or stationary), breathing techniques and mental focus.
Medical Qigong is thousands of years old and is considered the Father of Acupuncture - it is Acupuncture without needles.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese health system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and meditation and is practised for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality.
The word Qigong is made up of 2 words - Qi or Chi (pronounced "chee") is usually translated to mean the life force or vital energy that flows through all things in the universe. Gong or Kung (pronounced "gung") means accomplishment or skill that is cultivated through steady practice. Together Qigong (Chi Kung) means culvitaving energy.
The gentle, rhythmic movements of Qigong can
: reduce stress, : build stamina, : increase vitality, : enhance the immune system,
: improve cardiovalcular, respiratory, cicculatory, lymphatic and digestive functions.
