MERIDIAN PSYCHOTHERAPY: involves all of the Meridian Therapies

METAMORPHIC TECHNIQUE: This therapy is considered an "add on" for Therapists with existing qualifications and people consulting for this therapy should check with their Therapist for their other qualifications.

This technique stands alone for it is neither a therapy nor a treatment, nor is it a massage or healing. There is no diagnosis or physical manipulation. It is a simple tool that enables us to move from feelings of limitation towards accessing more of our potential.

In short, it helps us to help ourselves.

The Practitioner uses a light touch on the feet, hands and head. The Technique offers a unique approach to handling personal issues, whether they are physical, mental or emotional.

These matters will influence how we are able to respond to events in everyday life.

A session usually lasts 30-60 minutes.

Treatments:

• People are often drawn to the technique in times of difficulty, career changes,
• moving house, divorce, bereavement or illness.
• Many find they cope better in these periods of transition.

Practitioners:

MYOTHERAPY: (Trigger Point Therapy).  Trigger Point therapists use finger pressure to release tension in muscles that have become chronically tight from trauma, overuse or poor posture.  Many of these "trigger points" can cause pain in other areas of the body and are the same as those used in Acupressure.  For example, a therapist might work on your trapezius muscles (the ones between your shoulder blades and your neck) in order to relieve tension headaches.

During a session, you will lie unclothes under a drape on a massage table while the therapist worms up and relaxes the contracted muscles with kneading strokes.  He/she will then press directly on the tender points for 8 - 12 seconds.  This may feel uncomfortable but should not be painful, since pain will just cause the muscle to contract further.  Once the therapist feels the trigger points release, he/she will continue to work on the surrounding muscles so that they should not tighten up again.  You may feel some soreness in the area for a day or two afterwards.

Some studies have found Trigger Point Therapy can be effective in easing low-back pain.  Sessions typically last an hour.   Prices are comparable to other forms of Massage.
